AS 18.65.220 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: (b) The councilmay not establish standards for employment under (a)(2) of this section or reject an applicant for admission to a police training program, or otherwise treat a person differently, solely because of the source of the person's high school diploma or equivalent credential. Nothing in this subsection prohibits the council from inquiring into the content of a secondary educational program to determine whether a person meets qualifications, other than a requirement to have a high school diploma or the equivalent, required for employment or for admission to a police training program." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that SB 148 be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading, and placed on final passage. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
